Pre-departure reminders

Dear parents and students!

We want to take a moment and encourage all students to take a few moments before Monday to review the Honor Code! We the instructor team (Katie, Nick and Rachel) will hold every student to the program Honor Code for the entire duration of the program!

A few important reminders:

-The consumption of alcohol, tobacco and drugs at any point during the program is prohibited! We have received word from a few parents at Orientation in April that there was discussion between students regarding alcohol consumption in León. These types of conversations are not appropriate at any point during this program. This includes even joking about alcohol consumption, tobacco or drug use. The instructor team was very disappointed to hear about these conversations, and we hope this serves as a reminder to all students about our stance on this issue.

-This is an academic program with a focus on learning Spanish and the customs/culture of Spain. You must abide by the language commitment! Spanish must be used at all times during the program.

You must always be in groups of 3! This is for your safety and the safety of all students!

Remember to dress modestly! You are going to be living in a new culture. Short-shorts and ripped jeans, shirts, etc. are not appropriate and should be left at home.

Failure to comply by these rules and the entire Honor Code will result in consequences (e.g., incident reports, etc.).

We are very much looking forward to our Summer together and want everyone to be safe and have fun! If you have any questions before Monday, please let us know!

Saludos cordiales,

Katie, Nick, Rachel and Sira!
